REFLECTION - Reflection is the change in direction of a wave at a boundary between two different media, so that the wave moves back into the medium it came from. The most common examples include the reflection of light, sound and water waves.

REFELCTION IN LIFE

Self-reflection is defined as “meditation or serious thought about one's character, actions, and motives.” It's about taking a step back and reflecting on your life, behaviour and beliefs.

Reflection comes from the idea of "self-examination, self-modification, and self-replication", reflecting on one's self for the purpose of change. In programming you use reflection to examine the structure of the program itself in the context of using it instead of just examining it.
